Patnitop Tour Jammu

I visited Patnitop this weekend and it was a real fun vacation.  It is around 3 hour drive from Jammu and the weather becomes pleasant only after you cross Udhampur. Until then, its not much different from the weather in Jammu or in delhi for that matter.

On way we halted for 30 minutes at Jhajar Kotli which is a river shore and many locals come there to enjoy playing in water. Its a very busy and famous picnic spot for many schools in Jammu and near by areas.  After enjoying the fresh water of river tawi, we continued our journey, driving slowly and halting multiple times on road side to enjoy the scenic beauty of valley.

In around 3 hours we reached Kud (7 KM from patnitop) and decided to stay in Dak bunglow of JKTDC for night. The weather is equally pleasant there and we had to sleep with blankets in the month of July !

Next morning we left for Patnito. We reached there with in 30 minutes and started enjoying the beauty of mountains, fog, horse ride, apple garden and scenic beauty of nature.  The USP of this tourist spot is Huts that are rented out to tourists who stay in them along with their families.  These Huts are very much like vacation rental concept that is seen in western countries.

All in all its was a fun fille vacation with a lot of adenture, mountain climbing and photo shooting!
